Our Coaches

Andy Johnson

This season marks Andy's 10th with the Eagles.  During his tenure, he has served as both the head coach of JV and Varsity.  Andy hails from Plainview, Minnesota where he played for Plainview High School and was named to the Southern Minnesota All-State team.  He played for Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas for four years and also had opportunities to play internationally in Japan, Australia, and Germany.

From 1994 to 2002, he coached at Bay Area Christian in League City, Texas.  His teams went to the playoffs 8 of those 9 years, making the Final Four in 1998 and 2000.  During his time with HCYA, he has led his teams to two Division II championships and one Division III championship at the Homeschool World Series in Auburndale, Florida.

Andy and his wife, Amy, have 6 children.  Both of their sons, Andrew and Ethan, played for HCYA.  We are fortunate to have them play such a vital role in the leadership of our program.

Tim King

2021-2022 is the second year for Tim to be with HCYA.  After graduating from Deer Park High School in 2001, he was taken in the 7th round of the MLB draft by the Tampa Rays organization.  A left-handed pitcher, he played for several seasons for their minor league affiliates in Princeton, WV; Poughkeepsie, NY; and Charleston, SC.

Since his retirement from professional baseball, he has stayed active in the game with private pitching lessons.  His addition to our coaching staff not only improved our performance on the mound but contributed to the Eagles setting or tying 10 team records in his first season.

Tim and his wife, Leah, live in Mont Belvieu, Texas.  They have two children, Kylee (7) and Kylan (4).  Kylan is sure to be a future Eagle!  We feel blessed by their service to our organization.
