Walk-off loss keeps Eagles out of Division I

The Eagles lost a nail-biter today in the Qualifying round vs. the St. Louis Patriots.

We jumped out to a 2-0 lead before surrendering 4 runs in the bottom of the 4th. We scored 4 of our own over the next three innings, allowing only 2 more, taking a tie into the bottom of the 7th inning. Unfortunately St. Louis was able to put one aboard and then knock him in for a dramatic 7-6 walk-off victory…

There were a lot of positives to take away from the game, particularly hitting and pitching. But despite out-hitting the Patriots, and allowing fewer earned runs, the Eagles will enter the Division II bracket for the third year in a row.

We know to expect stiff competition there. Every single one of the Division II teams have scored at least one victory in the World Series so far, so we’ll need to bring our best stuff into the back half of the week.

The first round is Thursday, after a well-deserved day off tomorrow. Go Eagles!
