Two wins ice the cake on Senior Day

The Eagles celebrated our seniors at the last home game of the season yesterday, and iced the cake of that celebration with wins against Aransas Pass and the West Houston Thunder.

The crowd on hand had two chances to cheer for each of the seniors – in a brief ceremony prior to game 2, and then again as each senior left the field from that game, replaced by an underclassman sub.

Our prayers will soon go with each of the seven seniors graduating in a few weeks, for success in all that they attempt in the next chapter of their lives. We thank them for everything they’ve done to make the HCYA program what it has become:

  • Toby Stringer – 6 years with HCYA. 4 years on Varsity as a pitcher, outfielder and 1st baseman.
  • Nolan Rising – 5 years with HCYA. 4 years on Varsity as a 1st baseman, pitcher, and 3rd baseman.
  • Justin Withey – 5 years with HCYA. 3 years on Varsity as a pitcher, infielder and outfielder.
  • Kris Cormier – 5 years with HCYA. 3 years on Varsity as a shortstop.
  • Andrew Johnson – 5 years with HCYA. 3 years on Varsity as a pitcher, outfielder and 1st baseman.
  • Bryce Roberts – 3 years with HCYA. 3 years on Varsity as a pitcher, 2 years as an outfielder.
  • Nick Cluck – 3 years with HCYA, on JV as a pitcher, outfielder and 1st baseman.

…but before those graduations, we still have one more regular season game, and then the Homeschool World Series. We know the seniors, and all of the Eagles, will FINISH STRONG!
