Late game rally fails to even double-header vs Bellaire

The Eagles fought hard Saturday vs. a strong Bellaire team which is once again a favorite for the state championship. In game one through 5 2/3 innings we dueled to a 3-2 score, only to lose traction and the game. A late game rally in the second game’s 5th inning sparked some hope for a comeback to even the double-header, but fell short in the end due to great defense and pitching from Bellaire.

In total HCYA posted 10 hits and a .385 OBP but fell victim to errors in the field and too many walks from our pitching staff.

It was a good first test to the season, and one which showed several areas to improve. And fall is all about improvement! So we look forward to build from here.

Go Eagles!
