Fall season restarts with heartbreaking DH loss to Dulles
The Eagles restarted the fall season yesterday with a double-header vs. Fort Bend Dulles High School. These were the first games in 3 weeks, as Hurricane Harvey disrupted the previous 2 weeks.
The lost time showed itself mostly in our bats, with the team totaling just 6 hits and 3 runs in 11 total innings. On the bright side, our pitchers threw a high percentage of strikes, striking out 16 while walking only 7.
In game 2, we jumped out to a lead in the 1st inning and led 1-0 through 4 1/2 innings, but then allowed a run in the bottom of the 5th and another in the 6th to allow Dulles to complete the comeback.
As the team and the city return mostly to normalcy, there will be more time in all of our lives for team and individual practice. We hope to see the bats warm up as the season proceeds.
