Eagles win the World Series Division II

With a 6-2 victory today over the Spring MtB Mustangs, the Eagles won the Division II Championship.

The Mustangs reached the Division II Championship after a Q-Round loss to the Raleigh Warriors, a first round victory over the Plano Chargers, and a Final Four victory over the Atlanta Barons.

It took a full team effort, with 7 hits from 6 different batters and a 3-hit performance from a tandem of Eagles pitchers.

We broke the game open from a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 6th inning with a 5 run offensive explosion.  The Mustangs were only able to muster 1 run in the top of the 7th, ending the game 6-2.

Throughout the tournament, Coach Andy kept the team loose and enjoying the experience, giving them Paul’s counsel to the Philippians to be content in any situation God gives us, and inviting them to imagine they were playing a baseball-derivative game he taught them at our last practice of the season – “Nerk-Nerk”, a game he had invented at the age of 10.  The team responded with the best baseball we played all year.

A great finish to the 2017 season. Way to go Eagles!
