6-0 shutout vaults Eagles into Division II Championship game

The Eagles posted our third victory of the Homeschool World Series today with a 6-0 shutout of the Richmond Patriots. 8 hits and no errors complemented a great outing by two Eagles pitchers.

The Patriots entered the game off a narrow 8-7 victory in the first round over the Nashville Monarchs.  Prior to that they played three straight games against the Fort Worth Riders: a tight 15-14 loss in pool play, then a 5-1 Q round victory,  prompting an extra Q round game yesterday.  The Patriots lost that game, which landed them in Division II and Fort Worth in Division I.  Both teams are now out of contention in their divisions.

The Eagles will face their local nemesis the Spring Mustangs in the Division II Championship tomorrow morning at 9:00 EDT, a game which will also be simulcast on the tournament website HWSA.net.

Go Eagles!
